About your Personal Licence
A personal licence will allow the holder to sell or authorise sales of alcohol under a Scottish premises licence or occasional license . A personal licence will also allow the holder to be nominated on to a premises license as the acting Designated Premises Manager (DPM). Once granted a Scottish personal licence is valid for 10 years and can be used anywhere in Scotland. However there is a requirement under the licensing Act (2005) for refresher training prior to the 5th anniversary of the licence. To obtain a personal licence you will need to undertake SQA regulated licensing law training course known as, the Scottish Certificate for personal licence holders (SCPLH) level 6.
If you select the Full Licence option, then we will take care of everything including your licence application to the Board and all fees. All you need to do is attend the training course and pass your exam.
If you choose to select the SCPLH Certificate Only option, then you will need to complete your own application to the local Licensing Board to gain your full personal licence. Scottish licence application fees are £50.00 per candidate.
